The Courage of the Uganda Martyrs by Sem Ainamani Christopher Kabale Diocese
In Uganda the pearl of Africa, a storm arose,
As faith was tested, courage to be disclosed.
King Mwanga's wrath, a threat to the divine,
But the Uganda Martyrs, their spirits would not decline.
Charles Lwanga, Kizito, and Mbaga Tuzinde,
Stood firm in their beliefs, their faith their only guide.
Mukasa Kiriwawanvu, Gonzaga Gonza, Gyavira,
Faced the flames with unwavering zeal, their resolve would not waver.
Pontiano Ngondwe,Matthias Mulumba, Ssebbalijja,
Ssengova, Sserwanga, Ssewannyana, all to be seen.
Achilles Kiwanuka, Ambrosoli Kibuuka, their names we proclaim,
Honoring their sacrifice, their legacy we'll forever claim.
In the face of persecution, they refused to bend or break,
Embracing their faith, the price they were willing to make.
The Uganda Martyrs, their legacy shines bright,
Reminding us to stand tall, to defend our beliefs with might.
