Who Am I?

Before we begin, let me tell you a little about myself. I was born in MASYA village, Kanungu district. Life took a challenging turn when I lost my father at the age of 10, while I was in primary four. As the firstborn, I felt the weight of the world on my shoulders and thought life had ended. However, I discovered my talent for acting and creating stories at functions, which helped me earn money and support my family. I maneuvered through school, despite the hardships, and here I am now, pursuing my passion for creative work. 

In addition to my creative endeavors, I serve as the publicity secretary for the Kigezi Kampala Catholics Residents Association and St. Mary's College Rushoroza Old Students Association. I also handle social media for many companies and am the chairperson of the KKCRA choir. I am a family man, married with one wife and two sons. I believe that every one of you has incredible potential, and today, I want to help you see and unlock it, not just for personal success, but for the growth of our community and the church."

For instance, when I was young, I dreamed of becoming a storyteller. Despite the hardships, I held onto my dream and used it to guide my actions. I started performing at local functions, which not only helped me financially but also kept my passion alive. This dream became my compass, helping me navigate through life's challenges. Hold onto your dreams—they have the power to guide you to a brighter future."

Turning Obstacles into Opportunities

Life is full of challenges, but it's how we face them that defines us. Look at people like Oprah Winfrey, who overcame a difficult childhood to become a global icon, or J.K. Rowling, who was rejected multiple times before Harry Potter became a success. 

In my own journey, losing my father at a young age was a significant challenge. Suddenly, I had to grow up fast and take on responsibilities to support my family. But instead of letting this hardship defeat me, I turned it into an opportunity. I discovered my talent for acting and storytelling, which not only provided an income but also gave me a sense of purpose and direction. Every obstacle you face can be a stepping stone to something greater. Embrace your challenges, and let them drive you towards success."

"Education is a key to unlocking your potential. It opens doors and provides you with the tools to succeed. Whether it's traditional schooling, learning a new skill, or studying the Bible, always strive to educate yourself.

When I was in school, despite the financial difficulties and the pressure of supporting my family, I never gave up on my education. I studied hard, knowing that each lesson was a building block for a better future. There were times when I had to balance school with my work at functions, but I stayed committed because I knew the power of knowledge. Education equipped me with the skills and confidence to pursue my dreams and serve my community. Remember, knowledge is power, and it equips us to contribute meaningfully to the church and society."

"Dreams and knowledge are powerful, but they mean little without action. The time to start is now. Set clear goals, make a plan, and take the first step. Even small actions can lead to significant changes.

For example, when I discovered my talent for storytelling, I didn't wait; I started performing at local functions. This not only helped me support my family financially but also built my confidence and skillset. Each performance was a small step towards a larger goal. By taking action, we not only improve our own lives but also strengthen our church and community. Your journey to greatness begins with a single step. Throughout my career, I've had to adapt to different roles and challenges. From acting at local functions to handling social media for various companies, my ability to adapt has been key to my success. Even within the church community, I've taken on roles like the chairperson of the KKCRA choir. Being adaptable has allowed me to thrive in various situations and continue growing. The church needs young, adaptable minds to navigate and lead through these changes. Embrace change, and let it be your ally in achieving your goals."

"Remember, you are not alone on this journey. Surround yourself with supportive people—friends, family, mentors, and fellow church members. They can provide guidance, support, and motivation when you need it most.

In my life, having a network of supportive individuals has been crucial. When I lost my father, it was the support of my family, friends, and community that helped me navigate through those tough times. They encouraged me during difficult times and celebrated my successes. In my various roles, including as publicity secretary for different associations, I've relied on the support of others to achieve our collective goals. The church community is a great place to find and build these relationships. Lean on your support network, and be there for others as well."
