Immaculate Heart Girls School Nyakibale Triumphs at Rukungiri's Liturgical Music Festival!

Rukungiri District Catholic Schools Shine at Liturgical Music Festival
Rukungiri, Uganda– Today, all seven Catholic secondary schools in Rukungiri District came together at St. Jerome Ndama Secondary School for the Liturgical Music Festival. This event brought students, teachers, and community members together to celebrate Catholic liturgical music.
The competition ended with Immaculate Heart Girls School Nyakibale winning first place. St. Jerome Ndama Secondary School, the host, took second place, and St. Paul's Vocational School came in third.
The judges, Musekura Anthony and Bazilio Arinda, are both music directors of the KKCRA Choir and well-known composers in Kabale Diocese. They praised the students for their great performance of church music. "The students have shown a deep understanding of liturgy through their performances. Their dedication is truly impressive," said Musekura Anthony.
Bazilio Arinda added, "This festival is a wonderful idea that not only shows the musical talents of our young people but also helps them understand and appreciate the Catholic liturgy. It is an experience that strengthens their faith and connection to the church."
The judges hope that such festivals will expand beyond Rukungiri to cover the entire Kabale Diocese. They believe that diocesan music competitions can help young people learn about Catholic music and improve church choirs across the diocese. "By holding these competitions district-wide, we can guide our choirs to new levels of excellence," Bazilio Arinda said.
